I am not sure.
But if USA flag is above the world flag, then it will only confirm to the rest of the world that USA is in fact an empire as many many liberal people had been warning us for long time.
I am a liberal myself and I agree that USA is an empire, unfortunately.
I hope that other people advice will show world flag at the flag but it is up to you.
Hmmmm... I would choose the world flag first. However, common sense says USA flag should be flown at the top. So far there is no code that the USA flag should be flown at the top, or you'd be arrested long ago :) I believe it is up to you, really. USA is just one of the countries in the world.

This is Sean, the son of Scott Berdy. I want to share my opinion with the flag situation. I have the feeling that the "WORLD PEACE" flag will come first at the top because the world is like HUGE than America don’t you agree? That is my opinion by the way.

John....yes but this sentence clearly explain that American flag should be at the top if combine with any flags on the same flagpole.

I had no opinion until I read this flag etiquette information jflmad gave to you. It says, "6. When flags of two of more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace." So, since the world flag represents ALL nations, I think the world flag should be above USA flag. Thanks for bringing this up!

World Flag is not "official flag" of the world per se, it is not a govt. we don't have one world govt yet!!!!! (not want!) so, USA flag should always be first since you only have one pole. You can get second pole and put both up evenly.

Good question. My understanding is that today we as american should realize our freedom and where we live alway seem the first impression then we look out for the world. America is only country that give other country supports at the most. That why US flag should come in first.
Hi there, I can see your point on the flag etiquette. Due to my understanding, there is now world government officially. The proper way I know of is to put the USA Flag at top first then the state flag then next can be anything as your local city or personal flag. If you have three poles, the US flag should be at the highest point and others are lower than that. I know that the State of Texas is the only state that doesnt follow the height rules. I am not sure other states are that way. To avoid any conflict or offending, the best bet is to put the US Flag first then state flag second then whatever u can add to it.
correction: no world gov't is official since we have too many countries that has their own flags.

My old folks were taught in school during 40s and 50s about the rules on everything about the US flag (i.e. history, how to display, how to fold, how to burn it proper, how to be patriotic during parade, celebration, lecture etc) Nowadays kids don't learn anything about our US flag, how sad.
Some boy scouts group in local area would teach the scouts about US flag and other flags etc.
Same with seamanship school (school for ship captain, sailor, etc) they learn about proper way to display flag on ships to prevent problems on seas.
Anyway back to your point ... Since there's no offical world gov't flag .. so therefore your US flag has to been at the top. Size of flag don't matter period. You can use small US flag on top. State flag normally comes after US Flag. County flag comes after State flag. then world peace flag / nascar flag / holiday flag / seasonal banner / whatever.
My suggestion is that US Flag, state flag, county flag goes on the pole(s). Like NASCAR or World Peace or any other banner/flag could be hang from the house porch or barn or shed or something as long it's not higher than the flags on the pole on your property.

I want to tell you honestly, it is YOUR decision. You can show the world flag on top and US flag second. Nothing wrong with that because USA is supposed to be free. You know only conservative, redneck and Republicans must how the US flag on top. That is all I mean. I really support your choice for flag.

I AM A DIE HARD KENTUCKY FOOTBALL FAN. I HAVE MY OWN TAILGATE FOR THE FOOTBALL SEASON WITH MY DEAF BUDDIES. I HAVE A FLAG POLE ON MY TAILGATE. FROM WHAT I SEE ALL OVER THE CAMPUS WHERE THE FANS HAVE THEIR FLAGS SET UP I SEE THE USA FLAGS ON TOP THEN UK FLAG THEN SO ON. I HAVE MY UK FLAG IN "ASL" I THOUGHT I WOULD PUT IT ON TOP BEFORE THE USA BUT I DIDNT THINK IT WAS RIGHT.
U WANT WORLD PEACE ON TOP BUT REMEMBER WHERE U ARE FROM? OF COURSE USA AND WHEN WAS USA DECLARED. IN 1776. ITS THE FIRST USA FLAG BEFORE WORLD PEACE FLAG. ITS UR DECISION.
