Thanks for sharing the humorous stories about KODA's mix ups with signs and sounds. Reminded me of my hard of hearing daughter (aged about 4 years old) hearing that her dad calling her as a "BRAT," and she looked at me, and signed to me, "Mom, I am not "Bread."

Cool Jon and Jon, I mean Jo'h'n and Jon. 'h' mean big something? LOL. Lot of readers appreciate you sharing this observation. Even deaf toddlers sign incorrectly as we try to figure out what they're trying to say. Cute process, yes.

"present" like in gift, not like in now. That was what she meant when trying to say princess. That was why I thought she meant that Cinderella looked like a gift (present) wrapped up with nice ribbon and all, all dressed up fancy.

Anyway thank for the summary. Gave us something to smile about.

Hey John, here's another one. My daughter would sign patient and butter. I said, "what???" And finally figured out that she was trying to say peanut butter. Still today she still uses this sign and I have to correct her. Haha! Thanks John! Its good for koda and coda kids to watch your vlog about this topic.

Michelle,

One commenter on the other entry must have been a CODA because she or he said "I didn't realize we did that."

Is that right, anonymous commenter? if so, want to say raising my two CODAs has been definitely not dull! :)

Here's a related story:

One time, my hearing friend and I were visiting. My friend didn't sign, but I could lip-read her well. Her 4-year-old hearing son came walking in the room and wanted to show me his new cowboy boots and chaps. He started talking to me, but I couldn't follow him because he kept turning his head down to his feet while talking, looking at his boots and costume. I couldn't lip-read him.

So my friend tugged him gently over to her and told him, "Michael, you need to show LaRonda your mouth when you talk."

Michael looked at me with big eyes, came closer to my face and then he opened his mouth as wide as he could to "show me his mouth." Then he began talking down at his boots again while pointing to them.

My friend and I buckled over with laughter. He did, afterall, show me his mouth! :)

I enjoyed watching few funny stories about C/KODA's mix up with signs and Sounds.
I want to tell you about my daughter. Few weeks ago, My 5 years old daughter said "Mom, why do you have four" I asked her "what kind of four are you talking about" she said " why do you have four car" I was puzzled which I dont have four cars. I told her "I dont have four car and u need to show me where" she walked outside and point my car symbol she meant "FORD"
