Hi friends!
Welcome to my ASL Vlog! ASL (American Sign Language) is the most beautiful language in the world!
Always Be Cool.................................................................
A day when deaf people and their language are completely accepted -- no, more than that, truly welcomed -- as a part of the family of man, in which God created diversity not to oppress the minority who are different, but to enrich the lives of all.

Hi John L.~
You made me smile all the way! Yeah, sports has so many memories! I was so thrilled that I was able to play sports when I got transferred out of mainstream school during my sophomore year! Guess what?! I never forget this, I joined CSDR in December and it was in the beginning of basketball season and this coach called me out of nowhere without me trying out and all said for me to put on the uniform because one of the basketball player knows me from summer camp told her coach that she's good ball player... I was so nervous but glad that I get to join varsity without trying out or anything.. After that, I was playing first string until my senior year! I wished I could get a Vlog to tell the story better.. On the blog is forever! However, that's one! Heh and I have thousand more to it. You're correct about vs deaf and hearing during sport! Anyway, fun listening to you ABC!!!
Hey John ABC!!
WOW!!!! You really brought me back memories!!
I'm a CRAZE SPORT JOCK myself!!!
Softball & Track was my #1!!
I did in track - "softball throw" farthest. Many hearing didn't throw far, the judges stood where the kids threw the ball, when it was my turn - I threw the ball SO FAR - like Fitz did. LOL! I was CHAMP for 3 years - went into state, ahhh 1st year - 1st place, 2nd year 3rd place. AHHHHH! Such memories.
Softball - I was win in DEAF softball - I was 2nd MVP Softball player in the Eastern. Such memories.
SPORTS ROCK/SPORTS ARE THE BEST!!!
I did not play much of sports and did not care for watching sports, BUT I enjoy watching your sport stories. :) Keep it up!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You reminded my husband David who was a very good football player at Ala School for the Deaf. He told me many wonderful story during the football season. Last year David was elected to ASD Hall of Fame.

You brought back alot of memories, however I was not into sports but I was a cheerleader LOL
I remember alot of our guys were not INTO track but they always did so well..
Yes those FARM BOYS always seemed to look so intimidating ,, believe me our deaf school played against a bunch of "farm schools"..
I really love watching your blogs, I always have a big smile on my face after I watch it,, LOL

Loved that! Yes, living at Deaf school does make a difference in our life! I was in mainstreamed program from age 3 to 9th grade then Deaf school during my last three years. 12 years of mainstreamed program comparing to 3 years of Deaf school, I have plenty of fun/great memories at Deaf school than at mainstreamed program! Imagine that!! Thanks for bringing us to the Memory Lanes!
Hi!
I'm from Indiana.
I either don't care for sports or watching sports, but I do enjoyed watching your story about sports.
:D
Wow! I felt like I was right there watching things in action! You were so animated when telling your stories. I was laughing and smiling and sitting on the edge of my seat!
Such great accomplishments to remember! Thanks for sharing.

OOps, maybe it is really time for me to hit the hay? excuse me, erase the V after I said ABC in my previous comment. LOL....
When it come to basketball, Illinois (ISD) had reputation for whip deaf schools. Example:
ISD 91 St.Johns Deaf 22. Does this look like friendly game LOL
I have 2 GOOD football memories to share. It is a little long, but I hope you can be patient with me. Easier to do on vlog..but I'll type it up.
My Senior year..we had 8 senior starters (8 man football). We played this FARM school forever and they ALWAYS beat us bad. All 8 of us decided we were gonna WHIP that farm school for good for our SR year. We studied film..watch watch watch film. When game time came..all 8 of us got down and prayed. We swore we all help each other out..watch trick or plays. All 4 quarters were HARD HARD FOUGHT. AT the end..we beat them by 1 touchdown. YAY!! The farm boys were all PISSED that they lost to "deaf boys". That was a GREAT memory.
2nd funny/good memory. We played against deaf school who just started football program that year and only played 2 games and playing against us would be their 3rd and last. Anyways..when we got to the school/dorm..there was this football player who went around us and brag that he was made of stone. No one can hurt him or break him. He was tough tough tough. He even hit his arm hard hard many times saying the tough tough. We all knew he wanted to "prove himself" so we just kept quiet.
Next day...game time..all 8 of us agreed to WATCH that player (he was fullback) and hit the %^&&* out of him HARD to teach him lesson. Well...3rd play into the 1st quarter he got the ball. He ran left and was clear open. 1 of our teammate fell in front of him and he jumped up. There was 4 of us all ganging up on him while he was in air. 1 hit him in midair..while he was coming down..I hit him on his side and when he was just about to land down on ground..1 of my teammate hit him by "flying" down into him. Next thing you know..he was crying crying saying "hurt hurt hurt hurt". Found out he had broken arm bone. Bone went through skin out elbow. Took him to hospital. We WHIPPED that team 70 to 35 because Varsity finish sit down after 1st quarter and let 2nd, 3rd string players get chance to play. Man..that was GOOD memory!
