A day when deaf people and their language are completely accepted -- no, more than that, truly welcomed -- as a part of the family of man, in which God created diversity not to oppress the minority who are different, but to enrich the lives of all.

ABC,
I wish I could do that in a REAL world. Often my interpreters at U.O. ask me to slow down. I rather to allow them to keep paced with my ASL. Otherwise, I would be looked stupid if interpreters voice my short-cut words to the audience. What choice do I have?

Ha, ha! Very funny. I could sit back and watch the expression on hearing person's face while the interpreter catches up with our conversation.
PS. Don't forget to wash your hands!
I can't add anything to what commentators above me said so I will go ahead and...
*laughing hard, rolling on the floor*
Oh, ok....

My stomach!

Terps are also human beings, too. We ought to be considerate about them in some ways.
Other terps could be real a**hole which they think deaf people ought be submissive to terps and other hearing people.
One terp is a Wiccan himself which I have to be real careful with him. I do not want any curse or black magic on me from this terp. Other deaf people do have problems with this very same terp.

How many does signing word per minutes? I have only known our former president John F. Kennedy did spokes 150 words per minutes! So I assume for ASL signing is 300 or so word per minutes! It is really tough on interpreter.

Hi Mr. ABC,
I have noticed some interpreters are unfamilair with terms of sign language. I wondered why he/she completed their college degree in interpreting program. WHY?
Also fingerspelling that some interpreters could not able to reception enough for deaf clients. Sometimes, I feel embarrased when I had a meeting with my supervisor or during the job interview. I wondered how do you feel about this situation?
