I am in the ninth grade and I wear a cochlear implant. your joke is funny but I feel a little uncomfortable because Deaf people like you look less of me.

Oh well.

I have been watching your stories and you keep getting better. This was "champ".

Michaela, I understand what you are saying. I have an idea: Make up a story where CI wins! There are advantages and disadvantages to everything, so think of what you can do that no one else can and remember that we all support you!

Beautiful! Classifiers, 5 parameters (Linguistics of ASL) and ASL blend together into one story! Keep it up!

You should add a problem for the third team. The drummer experiences horrible muscle spasms in his hands and arms from hitting the drum so fast and so hard. OR the drum sticks slip from his sweating hands. The Deaf team gets into trouble, too. No team wins. No winners! All of us including Micheala will feel even and equal! Ha ha!

For Michaela and Anonymous at 9:11 on Jan 15th: CI is something new so they always learn from mistake so next race, all CI oarsmen will wear headband to keep their CI devices on their head, LOL!

I never heard of this but it was funny. I loved the way you signed for oars! Are you going to Calif. for blog/vlog awards convention? IF so, I wish you good luck!

Wow! your ASL story is superb!

MAINSTREAM does not mean Cochlear Implanted. I must protest.

This has become a post-generational thing. Someone, who is grey/white-haired, would not often consider someone who can half-hear/half-deaf think is Cochlear implanted.

Otherwise, it's a delightful (and most true!) tale.

Good one!

You mean Canadian Deaf oarmen won the race! Just kidding.

ADORED the handshapes for the rowing boats!

Cool joke! At first, I assumed Deaf team would win b/c of drum that would blow hearing ppl's ears and CI ppl's brain out! That drum reminded me of Gally's loud drum at football field! :-)

Probably the best one yet for your story. Very good job on classifier story.
